Alastair Caldwell is brought up in New Zealand. His fascination with motor racing starts at an early age and by the time he is in his teens he regularly races cars with his friends.

In 1981 Alastair's legacy helps Brabham win the Formula 1 championship as he moves to ATS to head the team for a season. Feeling like it was time to make his own millions rather than ask for money from other people he leaves Formula 1 to put his business ideas into practice.
