The Ford Escort Mark I Mexico with Lotus twin cam 1600cc engine was bought in New Zealand on the internet, already rally prepared, but sight unseen.
Alastair used it to take part in the Silver Fern rally in 2010 which covers thousands of miles of public gravel roads in the South Island of New Zealand. The car was great fun and managed to win its class.
